Arizona Surprise (AP) — Officials said Thursday in three cities in western Phoenix, a 90-minute drive-by shoot killed one, injured three, and injured nine.
The suspect was detained, but authorities said it was unclear if the person was responsible for all shootings.
The suspect’s name was not immediately announced.
Police stations in Peoria, Surprise, and Glendale, along with the Arizona Department of Public Security, were investigating shootings in their respective cities.
Peoria police spokesman Brandon Shephert said at a press conference Thursday afternoon that authorities were investigating at least eight separate shooting scenes.
He said four people had gunshot wounds and one of them died.
Other victims suffered various injuries, including hitting debris, according to Shephert.
Banner Health officials said they had accepted nine patients at three hospitals. However, the extent of the victims’ injuries and their condition were not immediately revealed.
Surprise police reported that the two were shot dead around noon on Thursday.
Witnesses provided authorities with a description of the escape vehicle, and the suspect was detained after a surprise traffic outage.
