“Megafire”: Oregon’s bootleg fire almost doubles in size to over 143,000 acres in 24 hours.

Portland, Oregon (KOIN) – Amid the hot and dry conditions of southern Oregon, pirated fires in this area of ​​Klamath County have grown to over 66,000 acres in 24 hours.

“During the wildfire season, all fire departments have dual responsibilities,” said Sarah Boon, chief of the Portland Fire Department. “The main mission is to provide obligations based on local emergency response areas and state emergency mobilization plans to assist in the event of a wildfire fire.”

As of Sunday, about 926 employees were responding to the wildfire.

Evacuation notice

Level 3 (“Go Now”): Located near the town of Sprague River, including the Upper Tableland area, north of Oregon Pines Road, and north of the town of Beatty, including the Sican Estate area.

Level 2 (“Get Set”): Near the north of Beatty, including north of Highway 140 and both sides of Godwa Springs Road, and north of the Sprague River, including the Klamath Forest Estate / Moccasin Hills area.

Authorities say additional evacuation notices are likely to be issued in the area as the fire progresses.
