Martin Lawrence is confident that another “Bad Boys” movie will be made.
The 57-year-old actor, who starred with Will Smith in the Buddy Cop action series, rejected the proposal that Smith, who hit the infamous Chris Rock in Oscar, could end the franchise.
Martin told Evony, “I got at least one more.”
The original film, featuring Martin and Will as Miami detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Loree, respectively, was released in 1995, and Lawrence felt it had a transformative impact on his career.
“We can get together, prove that we can deliver, and draw people into box office revenue. Two black stars and two sitcom stars can make money with box office revenue (it was huge). ).
“I didn’t go to college, so I felt that TV was my college days. I felt in the movies and graduated. That was totally different.”
The series returned to the big screen in 2020 with “Bad Boys for Life” (a sequel to the original “Bad Boys” and the 2003 sequel “Bad Boys II”). Martin suggested that Will was responsible for the long wait times. He wanted the script to be perfect.
“It took a long time because of Will. If it wasn’t right, he wouldn’t write the script,” he said.
I also admit that I’ve been worried about the compatibility with the co-stars long since the last movie.
He explained: “We haven’t seen each other for a while. The concern was always chemistry because the first two films were made in every scene. Everything we made in the scene was the result of chemistry. The first time I entered the room together … it was very perfect. “
