Man shot by drive-by shooting

Wilkes-Barre — City police said a man had a gunshot wound during a drive-by shooting on Alexander Street early Saturday morning.

Police responded to the area for a shot fired at around 3:39 am and encountered several people escaping on foot or by car.

According to police, 12 used shells were recovered in the area, and two vehicles had bullet holes.

A man appeared at a local hospital for a gunshot wound while a policeman was on the scene.

According to police, the victim reported that a dark-colored car had been pulled up and was about to leave the party when two men fired.

The investigation is underway, police said.
