Swarmer was drafted by the Cubs in the 19th round of the 2016 draft.

In the life of a minor, he achieved 3 saves and 4.40 ERA in 116 games in 32-34, of which 91 games will be started.

He spent all of the 2019 season in Triple A. After not playing as a minor in 2020 due to a pandemic, Swarmer played 19 games in Iowa last season and 5 games in Double A, Tennessee.
