A Wilkes-Barre-Luzerne County jury acquitted a Hazleton man accused of intimidating another man with a knife after 11 minutes of deliberation.
Wellington Marte Ramirez, 27, was being tried in front of Judge Michael T. Vaux for weighted and simple assaults.
Hazleton police charged Ramirez after investigating reports of the Lucas Ino Rosario allegedly threatened with a knife in a restaurant on North Locust Street on October 14, 2019.
After Wednesday’s one-day trial, the jury held an 11-minute deliberation to acquit Ramirez in two respects.
Attorney Theron J. Solomon represented Ramirez.
The first district attorney, Anthony Ross, was indicted.
