He said the stroke was caused by a blood clot from his heart being in the rhythm of atrial fibrillation for too long. His wife Gisele discovered the symptoms and took him to the hospital, where doctors removed the blood clot and reversed his stroke, his campaign said.

He said his procedure was successful and “we are on track for a full recovery.”
