Lehman Township man charged with more child rape crimes

Lehman TWP. — A Lehman Township man was charged Thursday with additional rape charges for sexually assaulting two girls.

John James Martin, 44, of Trojan Road, was arrested late Tuesday night when police appeared at the Lehman Township police station after asking two girls and their mother.

Police began investigating earlier Tuesday when one of the girls sent an email to state police about Martin’s sexual assault on her and another girl.

When Martin appeared to the police after the interview, he was arrested for rape, child rape, statutory sexual assault, unwilling sexual assault, exacerbated assault, child danger and minor corruption. I was charged. He was charged by a district judge, Feliz Webby, on Wednesday and imprisoned in a Luzerne County correctional facility without bail.

On Thursday, police filed a second criminal complaint against Martin’s indictment of him for the same charges. He was charged by Webby, who re-committed him to jail without bail in his second criminal accusation.
