The United Church of Christ of St. John welcomes Rev. Elaine Erie preaching at 8 am and 10:15 am on July 31st. The Deacon of the Gwined Square Presbyterian Church collects backpacks and school supplies for the children served by the Chester Eastside Ministry, Jema Service, Hope Prison Ministry, and North Pen Valley Boys & Girls Club. The following items need to be donated. Composition book (marble and other types). Spiral notes (wide and college dominated); Pocket holders (with or without blood); Loose leaf binders (preferably 1 inch); Loose leaf paper packs (wide and college rules); Partitions; Reinforcement boxes; Pencils (wooden) Or mechanical); pencil sharpener; pencil box / case; pen (blue or black); large pencil eraser; fluorescent pen; marker box (jumbo washable and regular); crayon box (8 pack jumbo and regular); colored pencil Box; Stick glue (please refrain from bottles); Ruler (measured in inches and centimeters); Scissors, hand disinfectant. The Anglican Church in Harleysville, on 2871 Barndt Road, on the corner of Samnytown Pike in Upper Salford, continues during summer worship hours. Grace Lutheran Church, 40 N. Main St., Hatfield, Rev. Nancy M. Raabe continues his summer worship schedule at 9:15 am on Sunday, streaming live coffee hours on the veranda overlooking Broadcent Service. Will be done. The Gwined Square Presbyterian Church hosts Blood Drive from 2 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 9th. Note that this is a date change. The Red Cross has requested the Church to host this additional blood drive due to the urgent need for blood. One unit of donated blood can be used as a whole blood transfusion or divided into components that help four individuals. It is best to make a reservation, but if a store opens, the Red Cross will bring it in. They are asking people who feel sick, don’t donate. You must wear a face mask and the temperature will be measured at the time of registration.
