Jets wide receiver Corey Davis is out for the rest of the season – Reading Eagle

Corey Davis was excluded for the rest of the season after injuring Core Muscle against the Eagles on Sunday. Davis will have muscle surgery, Robert Surrey said on Monday.

Davis had already questioned that he was heading for the match with an inguinal injury, but Saleh wasn’t sure if he had survived the injury and was injured at the end of the season.

“That’s a fair question. He’s cleared. He went through various steps and tried to get ready for it,” says Sale. “It’s a pity that it was finally distributed.”

Davis was injured at the beginning of the fourth quarter when Zach Wilson threw a pass to an imperfect sideline. After falling and crashing into a bystander, Davis stood up cheeky and dragged.

Davis dealt with a lower back injury and missed a match between Bengals and Colts in the 8th and 9th weeks. He returned to Bills and caught five passes at 95 yards. Davis played against the Dolphins on November 21st and was unable to play in the Texans game the following week because he hurt his crotch that afternoon.

The Jets free agent’s signature will miss eight games in the first season with Gang Green.

In the nine games he played, Davis was solid against Jets, winning 492 yards and four touchdowns. He experienced featureless declines (6 times) throughout the year, which was not a problem in Tennessee. He had 11 drops in the last three seasons before joining Gang Green.

This hit Jets’ attack and is now its number one receiver. Wilson had the most trust in Davis. This explains why, at least until recently, he led the team to target throughout the season. He averaged the most receive yards per game and made four touchdowns in nine games.

“I have a terrible feeling for Corey. He is one of the true professionals in the league. To be honest, I’ll start his business right away,” Sale said. “So I know he’s hurt because of his shorter season, but at the same time he can get him back next year and he’ll be better than ever.”

In the game Davis missed, Elijah Moore brilliantly filled it. Moore showed the potential of the elite shown during the training camp.

In the last six games, Moore has made five touchdowns at 459 yards. So the second round of Oremis proved he could step up. Jamison Clouder is also a reliable slot weapon.

Kieran Cole is solid, but not very successful this year. Although Denzel Maimusu is talented, it was a tough season for him when it came to playing time and health. Mims missed two games on the COVID-19 list this season and missed most of the off-season due to food poisoning.

When Mimus was healthy, he was stuck behind Davis, Cole, and Moore. So Mimus didn’t have much opportunity to play.

However, if Davis is absent in the last five games of the year, the drawing room will need to be stepped up.

Kicker situation

Jet ranked 29th in field goal conversion rates, 68.42% for the 13th week of the match. This cut the kicker Matt Ammendola on Saturday. They gave Alex Kessman a shot against the Eagles, but he missed both his extra point attempts.

Jets released Kessman on Monday and signed Eddie Pineiro on his active roster.

Pineiro is a former Gator who participated in the NFL in 2018. He contracted with the Raiders, but was injured and put into the injured reserve. Bears exchanged for him in 2019 and he converted 82% of the field goals.

Pineiro suffered an inguinal injury in 2020 and hasn’t played in the NFL since 2019.
