Jets made another draft day trade to select Iowa State University to run Breece Hall.
Gang Green exchanged the pick with the Giants for 36th overall and gave up the 38th and 146th overall picks to choose the hole.
“Man, it felt like it took forever, but now that it happened, I’m very happy,” Hall said. “I am fortunate to be a jet plane. I am delighted to be part of this organization and have the opportunity to help build his organization.”
Hall rushed 3,941 yards and 50 touchdowns during his college career. He considers himself a running back with a small hole in the game, as the Jets country needs to expect a playmaking running back that can do everything.
“Three downback. A guy who can catch the ball, make people miss, turn you over, and make someone to play hard,” Hall said. “And someone who is as far off the field as he is on the field, so he is a man who influences the community and becomes more than a soccer player.”
The hall is considered one of the best backs in the draft. He has a good tempo when throwing rocks by patiently piercing. Once the lane is created, he has the vision and acceleration to hit a hole to create an explosive play. He is all downback because he has excellent pass protection and has become a solid threat to pass games at 82 career receptions.
The combination of Iowa State University’s outstanding capabilities and Jets’ attack coordinator Mike Lafruul’s plans should work. With countless running backs created by this aggressive system, the hall is excited about something.
“I know it’s really back to being friendly,” Hall said. “So if you can touch the ball a lot and get a lot of opportunities, that’s all I need.”
This choice offers another backfield weapon to pair with Michael Carter. This will make life easier for Zach Wilson.
Hall-Carter pairing can be a tandem of lightning and lightning, as Carter can be a clever scatback and the hole can be a Bruiser inside the tackle. Hall has been studying Carter since college and can’t wait to learn from his second year running back in the building.
“Just looking at what he did last year and what he did in North Carolina gave me a good look at his game,” Hall said. “I’m just looking at how he’s Bruiser, but he can also miss you. So I think I can get in and praise him really well. And I Can’t wait to get in and learn from him. “
Jets revealed that they wanted to be the first physical breach. They signed with guard Laken Tomlinson, along with a tight-end duo of Tyler Conklin and CJ Yuzoma. All of these can be elements of a run game.
The addition of holes and other off-season additions should relieve pressure when Wilson enters his second year.
