Lehigh Valley IronPigs (35-30) lost to Buffalo Bisons (37-37) 3-2 on Saturday night. ‘The pig was 2 to 11 with a scoring runner and only 6 hits in the game.
Jake Newberry threw two scoreless innings at the Lee High Valley spot start. He made two walks and two strikeouts, giving up on just one hit. Buffalo took a 1-0 lead over the pig in the top three times when Zach Collins hit a sacrifice fly against Joe Gut, who won the Nathan Roox.
Scott Kingery gave Lehi Valley a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when he hit a two-run single against Darick Hall and Will Toffee-winning Gabriel Ponce. Karen Large hit an RBI single against Aaron Barrett in the top five innings, which drew the match 2-2.
Buffalo jumped 3-2 at the top of the top of the sixth inning as Chavez Young scored with Rafael Marchan’s slow error. Francisco Morales (1-3) lost to Lee High Valley.
Jake Elliott (1-0) defeated Buffalo. Shaun Anderson won a save by hitting five batters and throwing three scoreless innings for relief.
