Thursday is the last day to participate in the Indiana Free Library’s library card sign-up month giveaway.

There are four ways to register to win one of two great prizes. First prize is a $75 Sheetz gift card, second prize is a $25 Starbucks gift card and library mug. You can enter by joining the library and registering for your first card, or by upgrading your card to one of IFL’s plastic cards, HE, and completing a short questionnaire or completing the library’s reading challenge. Remember, signing up for a library card is the first step on your path to academic achievement and lifelong learning.

The Indiana Free Library is opening to the public its line-up of free programs for the week of September 26, 2022.

10:30-11:30 am Book Babies. This program takes small children to stories, sing songs, learn a few things and tackle very simple crafts during the program.This event is for ages from newborn to 2 years old. . No registration is required and the program is free and open to the public.

• IFL American History Book Club from 11am to noon. “Working in Penn Woods: Pennsylvania’s Civilian Conservation Corps” by Joseph Speakman.

The club meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month in the upstairs reading area to discuss the latest readings in American history. Hard copies of titles for checkout are located on the Book Club shelf on the ground floor.

• 1-2pm Storytime at the Hen House. This fun and educational program is for children ages 3-5. Participants visit the chicken girls and watch videos of their amusing behavior, read stories, sing a little, play a little, and do crafts. No registration is required and the program is free and open to the public.

• Head to Kindergarten between 10:30 and 11:30 am.

Kindergarten cruise registration is closed for this session. Only registered people can participate. The next meeting will be held in January.

• 6:30-8:00 PM Kids Movie Night. Kids Movie Nights are held in the Story Room, which screens popular children’s films from the library’s collection. 1:00 p.m., Checkers virtual episode. Checkers TV is a weekly educational entertainment program. • From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, trust yourself (Tips and tricks for getting great credit). Join Anna Frank, her coordinator of First Commonwealth Bank’s financial education program, to learn about credit her scores in and out. How is my credit score calculated and what are the most important things I can do to improve my credit score? Topics discussed are credit cards and how credit cards affect your credit score in multiple ways. This program will give you tips on how to make your credit card part of your responsible holiday spending.
