More than $700,000 awarded for road resurfacing project in Cumbria County

Cumbria County, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) — Croyle Township in Cumbria County has received funding for two rural road repaving projects.

Pennsylvania Congressman Frank Burns announced that a state grant of $792,000 has been awarded to the Oaks Road and Lake Road repaving project in Croyle Township. Burns said he’s always looking for ways to use state funds to help local communities.

“When you talk about investing in infrastructure, it’s not just bridges and interstates, it’s local roads like this,” Burns says. “Such grants free up local funds for other projects, help local governments carry out projects, and also encourage business and other private investment.”

The grant was awarded through the State Multimodal Transportation Fund administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development. This fund provides grants to promote economic development and ensure that Pennsylvanians have access to a safe and reliable transportation system.
