Philadelphia police are looking for a teenage boy who allegedly shot the Good Samaritan while he was trying to stop a robbery of a woman in the city’s Fairmount neighborhood.

The 62-year-old woman was approached from behind by a teenage boy at around 9:20 p.m. on April 5 as she was picking up merchandise from her vehicle on Block 2700 of Brown Street. Police said the boy pointed the revolver at the woman’s face and told her not to move.

A Good Samaritan walked by and thwarted the attempted robbery, police said. Investigators said the boy shot the Good Samaritan and then fled the scene.

No one was hurt in the incident and nothing was taken.

Philadelphia police are looking for a teenage gunman they say shot the Good Samaritan during an attempted robbery in the city’s Fairmount neighborhood.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect. The suspect was a lean black teenage boy in a dark hooded sweatshirt with a wide, light-colored drawstring. They also said the teenager first arrived at the location in his small four-door sedan, presumably a Mazda 3. Police have not released a description of the second suspect.
