Eastern Palestine, Ohio (WKBN) – Recovery efforts continue this week in Eastern Palestine.
More than two weeks have passed since the train derailment that claimed many lives.

Over the weekend, Mayor Trent Conaway said: updated on facebook. He said he met with several members of the state legislature on Sunday. Congressman Bill Johnson was also present.
Investigation and cleanup will continue on Monday. Conaway said in a post that cleanups are progressing well and will continue for the time being.

Officials and residents of East Palestine have seen many state and federal officials visiting to discuss decontamination and recovery efforts.
Several members of Congress visited last week, and even Senators Sherrod Brown and JD Vance. They both seek federal assistance. His three state representatives in the region also submitted resolutions.
Railroad companies have said they should warn states when trains are carrying hazardous materials. On Tuesday, that resolution will be sent to the rules and references for determining committees.
