Plane crashes along the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Harrisburg

York County, Pennsylvania (WHTM) – A plane crashed on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Fairview Township and Capital City Airport on the Susquehanna River.

York County Emergency Management Director Ted Czech said there were injuries, but the extent of their injuries was unknown. PennDOT said the accident involved a utility truck that was in the area.

According to 511PA, the ramp is closed at the Harrisburg West Interchange.

Capital City Airport is eight miles from downtown Harrisburg and the State Capitol.
