Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pauls finished on Saturday with 11 draft players, but that wasn’t enough to meet the needs of his roster.
So he set out to add more depth to the team by signing a number of undrafted free agents.
Pauls said he wanted staff to sell players so they could compete for opportunities.
“It’s a crazy process,” he said. “They are scrambling now and doing a really good job. This is probably the best process I’ve participated in and the way I started tonight after the draft. It’s very organized. We use technology to keep you connected and linked while you’re in different rooms, avoiding noise and people scrambling and screaming. It’s a crazy time.
“But from this undrafted free agent process, we guarantee that there will be some who will grow and become great players.”
Below is a list of players participating in the Bears through UDFA contracts or rookie mini camp tryouts, based on reports from players, schools, and more.
