There’s a lot to do in Lancaster County this weekend.
The biggest event this weekend will be Lancaster Roots & Blues. This is a music festival that brings both local and national acts to one of several stages in Lancaster.
For music lovers, there are other autumn and Halloween events, but they don’t have to be in this order.

Lancaster Roots & Blues
Lancaster Roots & Blues will be returning this weekend to seven venues in Lancaster with over 80 artists from various genres. Read our complete primer here.

The indie rock / emo band Turnover will perform on Phantom Power with Windowspeak and the Temple of Angels. Entry requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

Kiwi chicken barbecue
Longs Park will host the 68th Chicken BBQ Event to raise funds for the park and its programming. The event is recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the largest chicken barbecue in the world. Hope and the blessing of Civitas (Sertoma’s successor) will help run the event. New this year is the Civitas Court, which offers entertainment, food and wine.

Vintage revival market
At this month’s Vintage Revival Market, 60 vintage and handmade vendors will sell their products. Food trucks, live entertainment and breweries are also on the market. Early bird access to the market is from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, October 15th, with admission for $ 3, but Saturday is the main day of the market.

Millersville block party
As part of the Homecoming Weekend, Millersville University will host a block party this weekend. Block parties host beer gardens, live entertainment, food trucks, as well as games and other events. Registration is required, but admission is free.

Apple Pumpkin Festival
The Adamstown Festival hosts events such as pumpkin chucking contests, scarecrow making and costume parades. The rainy day is October 17th.

Dutch Wonderland will start a Halloween event this Saturday. Kids can enjoy trick-or-treat trails, as well as fun decorations and other Halloween activities.
