In 1952, Ted Twardjik Sr. dreamed of launching a food company inspired by his mother’s pierogi recipe. He remembered how popular Polish dumplings were at church festivals and thought that people would be excited to buy them from local grocery stores all year round. Later that year, Ted sold his first pierogi sample to a local grocery store in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, in honor of his mother, Mary Twardjik. NS Mrs. T-He called his company Mrs. T’s Pierogi. Almost 70 years later, Mrs. T’s pierogi is the largest producer of frozen pierogi, producing 600 million pierogi annually.
