Minneapolis (AP)-Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch graduated from Wilson High School in 1988, leading the team to 7th place at the Western Conference and Play-in Game Bath before extending his multi-year contract on Monday. I signed it.

The late Flip Saunders (.521) is the first. Minnesota is 46-36 this season, the second best record of a long-term franchise over the last 18 years.

Finch, 52, is an assistant in Toronto, New Orleans, Denver and Houston. The Timberwolves led the NBA in scoring this season with 115.9 points per game for the first time in franchise history. Their defense was also forced to lead the league with an average of 16.3 turnovers per game.
