Youngstown, Ohio (WKBN) – The American Heart Association would like to thank first news anchor Alexis Walters.

“This week’s Volunteer Week, the team in northeastern Ohio can’t help but thank Alexis Walters for their annual time and talent,” the organization wrote on its Facebook page.

Alexis participated in AHA by hosting the 2020 Tri-County Heartwalk. This year’s event was online, but Alexis found a way to make it great.

“The event was a digital experience, but Alexis did a great job of captivating the audience and went even further to make sure the event was a success,” said the organizer.

Alexis said this recognition meant a lot to her and was honored to be part of the American Heart Association.

“It’s a great honor for me to be recognized by AHA. It’s an honor for me to include me in organizing the event! Being part of a very important cause for me. Is also a privilege. You can see the work they are doing in the community. I hope they continue to include me and more people will become aware of their heart health. ” She said.
