FedEx driver asked about hundreds of packages in the woods | Nationwide

Hayden, Alabama (AP) —Hundreds of luggage were recently found in the woodlands north of Alabama’s most populous city, so authorities questioned FedEx drivers, Sheriffs said Monday.

Officials said last week, 400 packages of various sizes were found in a canyon about 30 miles (50 km) north of Birmingham. According to Sheriff Mark Moon, the discovery was made on private land near the small town of Hayden in Blount County.

The county sheriff said in a statement on the ministry’s Facebook page that security guards and investigators from a company based in Memphis, Tennessee had talked and identified the driver.

The driver’s name was not disclosed and Moon did not indicate if charges could be incurred.

The company added in a statement that officials are no longer servicing FedEx Ground and are cooperating with law enforcement agencies in the investigation.

“The security of your luggage is a top priority and we are committed to handling your luggage with the utmost care,” FedEx said, delivering as much recovered luggage as possible and damaged luggage. He added that he was looking for a solution.

According to sheriffs, after the discovery, agents guarded the scene and FedEx sent multiple trucks and drivers from all over the South to carry their luggage.
