Data Shows Pennsylvania County Has Highest Rate Of Child Sex Offenders

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) — Infoshare, part of the Pennsylvania state court, compiled data on people convicted of sex offenders between 2018 and 2022 and found that one county had the following percentages: nearly double that of the counties closest to

6,765 under Pennsylvania’s Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) Convicted and charged with 26,168 crimes. Of the convicted sex offenders, 51% were between the ages of 19 and 35, and 47% were charged with child pornography.

Luzerne County accounts for 16% of crimes committed under the Walsh Act, according to Information Sharing. Philadelphia County is third with 9%, and Lancaster County is third with 7%.
