There is ongoing debate in the city of Erie about the best way to spend more than $ 38 million on COVID bailouts.
Members of the Ellie City Council talked about financing at a meeting tonight.
Mayor Joe Shember proposed to appoint someone to oversee how the money would be spent.
A city council member said no final decision had been made on how to spend the money.
“We just want to make sure we’re involved and we haven’t decided how to spend that money yet, but we need it the most and it’s most affected by COVID. I like the mayor’s vision. ” Liz Allen, Erie City Council.
The US Rescue Plan was signed by President Joe Biden in March.
