Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Schuylkill County

“# Every1KnowsSome1” is the theme of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month to be held in October. The Schuylkill Hope Center for Victims of Indoor Violence, a non-profit organization that helps victims of domestic violence in Schuylkill County, plans activities to raise community awareness and provide education.

This theme highlights the prevalence of domestic violence in our community. The organization wants everyone to understand that this crime is not discriminatory. It can happen to anyone, and it’s more than physical violence. One in four women and one in seven men experience lifelong domestic violence.

This year, the center works with community organizations such as law enforcement agencies, health care providers, and local libraries to provide outreach and educational materials. Establish new billboard campaigns, share content on social media to raise awareness about the complex dynamics of domestic violence and help educate the general public.
