Dolphin Center Michael Deiter returns to practice, but Miami receivers still need more time – Reading Eagle

Michael Ditter of the Miami Dolphins Center returned to practice on Wednesday. He may be approaching recovery from a leg injury and has been on the injured list since October 2.

Dater was seen on Wednesday’s drill exercising with a compression sleeve on his right leg prior to Dolphins’ Sunday home game (5-6) with the Carolina Panthers.

Miami (4-7) will see how Deiter progresses this week to determine if the team will activate him from IR before Sunday or in the coming weeks.

Dolphins coach Brian Flores has expected other players Will Fuller (fingers) and DeVante Parker (hamstrings) and Malcolm Browne (quadriceps) ahead of Wednesday’s session. He said the running back needed more time to recover from the injury. When ready, everything is eligible to be activated from the injured list.

“Everything is approaching, but not perfect yet,” Flores said.

Flores talked to the dolphin Veteran Safety Will Parks added on Tuesday From the San Francisco 49ers practice team.

“He obviously has some experience in the league: free safety, strong safety and kick games,” said Flores of Parks, who was number 36 in Miami’s Wednesday practice. “Look at him when you have the opportunity to add him to the roster. Some guys banged. That also played that role. I’ve been watching him for years and he’s ours. I had the opportunity to join the team. “

Flores said he suffered a cornerback Jamal Perry’s knee injury on Sunday’s victory at the New York Jets and landed him on the IR on Tuesday.

“I hate it when it happens,” Flores said. “He has made a huge contribution to this team for three years. He is active. [roster].. This year he is on the practice team. He returned to active last weekend, but unfortunately it will be the end of the season. “

The team hopes that outside linebacker Brennan Scarlett, who was put on the injured list on Tuesday due to a knee injury on Sunday, will be able to return before the end of the season.

“It will take at least three weeks, and we’ll take it from there,” Flores said. “I don’t want to put a timeline on it.”

In his absence, Flores said the dolphins would sign a roster of 53 people from the practice team to a fellow outside linebacker Vince Biegel.

Begel, a valuable member of Miami’s 2019 defense, missed the 2020 season with an Achilles tendon rupture. He returned with the dolphins for a training camp prior to this season, but was released in an injury settlement before the dolphins returned to the practice team in October.

“I think he’s moving around well,” Flores said. “When we raised him several times, I think he brought a lot of juice and energy to practice.”

Adam Shaheen on the tight end and Elijah Campbell on the defensive back were not seen in the media viewing part of Wednesday’s practice. Shaheen was significantly dragged after play when he returned to the sideline at Jets on Sunday.
