PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Hundreds of people in Fayette County gathered this afternoon to raise money for a children’s hospital.
The event is called Devi’s Tractor Ride, in honor of a girl who died of complications shortly after birth.
Debi Matthews’ family said they started the event in hopes of giving back to Children’s Hospital for supporting them during these difficult times.
Dozens of tractors participate in this annual event, providing rides for locals. There are also 50/50 raffles, Chinese auctions and plenty of activities for kids.
“The support we have had for this event has been overwhelming. Companies, friends, family, everyone who comes here. This is not just one day for us. A lot of preparation, a lot of work.” If we didn’t have friends and family coming to our aid, we wouldn’t be able to,” said event organizer Bill Mills.
This year they raised over $10,000.
