Dame Arlene Phillips succeeds John Barrowman on “Dancing on Ice” | Entertainment News

Dame Arlene Phillips will join the “Dancing on Ice” jury.

According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, the 78-year-old choreographer, who was the head judge of “Strictly Come Dancing,” is “preliminarily consulting” to replace John Barrowman as he leaves.

The column states that TV insiders say: “The fact that Arlene is a mature woman with decades of experience in the dance world is considered a major asset of the” Dancing on Ice “.

“In contrast to what people see as her harsh treatment by Strictly, the ITV boss sees her seniority as a great way to create a diverse panel of show professionals.

“This means that DOI judges are now made up of two men and two women across a wide range of ages.”

Recently, it was revealed that John is no longer a judge for “Dancing on Ice”.

ITV has confirmed that the 54-year-old actor will not return as a panel member of the next series of celebrity ice skating contests.

However, he is working on the broadcaster’s “All-Star Musical” special.

A spokeswoman said in a statement: “Thanks to John for the wonderful two years on the’Dancing on Ice’panel and I’m happy to work with him again as the host for the next’All-Star Musical’ special.

“John is excited to return to ITV’s work as a host for a new all-star musical.”

Former “Torchwood” and “Doctor Who” stars replaced Jason Gardiner at last year’s Winter Games, but he previously played in 2006.

John withdrew from “Do I” after being caught up in a scandal that exposed himself in front of his co-stars and then revealing that he was seeking treatment.

The actor admitted “Torchwood” during the May shoots of “Doctor Who” and “Torchwood,” admitting that his actions could have upset people, but made him feel better. He insisted that he was just trying to entertain his colleagues.

And he later admitted that the backlash about his disgust led him to seek help after his mental health began to decline.

He said: “It confused my mental health.

“My husband Scott suggested that I talk to someone.

“I won’t talk about what I said in the treatment session, but it’s a matter of doctor / patient confidentiality, but I can admit that it helped me a lot.”
