Coroners identify a man found dead on the South Bethlehem Greenway – Wake-up call

The Northampton County Coroner’s Office has revealed the identity of a man who died on the South Bethlehem Greenway over the weekend.

Around 8 pm on Sunday, the body of Emmanuel Jose Santiago, 38, in Bethlehem was discovered by residents in the woodlands between Hayes and Buchanan streets. According to Northampton County coroner Zachary Risek, Santiago’s body was “in the advanced stages of disassembly” when it was discovered.

Captain Nicholas P. Lekman of the Bethlehem police said on Monday that no misconduct was suspected.

Further testing of Santiago’s cause of death is still pending, according to a news release from the coroner’s office.
