Cher is suing Sonny Bono’s widow.
The 75-year-old pop star filed a paperwork in Los Angeles with former US Congressman Mary Bono, claiming she had withheld her royalties from Sony from Cher’s hits in the 1960s.
Cher claims to be entitled to royalties from hit singles such as “I Got You Babe” and “Beat Goes On.”
According to Deadline, Pop Icon, who married Sonny between 1964 and 1975, is seeking $ 1 million in damages.
The well-known couple went on different paths, but they then agreed to share the income from the songs they recorded as a duo.
In the proceedings, Cher alleges that Mary “revokes” her rights and ownership of royalties.
As a result, Sher claims to have lost a significant amount of money.
Sher had previously opened a relationship with Sony, admitting that at some point he was like his father.
The chart-top star explained to Sonny, who died in January 1998 at the age of 62, “never talk.”
“If I could go back in time,” the hit maker said, “I couldn’t stand on my feet and talk to him. That was my problem. I could talk to him. I didn’t get anything, so I met my needs that he didn’t feel he should have. “
Pop star admitted that the birth of his son Chaz in March 1969 proved to be a major turning point in her life.
Sher, 45, with her second husband, Gregg Allman, explains: spirit. “
