Bradford County, PA-Feeding the CHOP bus, a county-wide food drive, is held to commemorate James Artieri. The goal of Food Drive, which began on September 1, is to fill the school bus with non-perishable food for Child Hanger Outreach Partners (CHOPs).

Bill Snyder of Sayre is coordinating volunteers to accept donations on a bus parked at Chandler’s Market at 448 N. Keystone Ave in Sayre from 9am to 5pm daily throughout September.

In addition to donating by bus, the Liz Terwilliger for Congress is coordinating donation boxes throughout the county. Donations include Waverley’s Palmer Manufacture Homes Valley, FWF Wellness, Guthrie Clinic’s Atrium, Horns True Value, Somes Bar and Grill, Friendship Star Quilt Shop, Choice 102, Sayre’s UTC Rail Car Repair, Yale’s Music You can do it with. Athens shop, IR FCU, Mad Haters Café and Coop.

Athens and Sayre school districts are also participating. Outside the valley, Milan’s Ad Graphics, E. Donations can be made at Smithfield’s Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church, Troy’s Copper Tree Store and Western Alliance Emergency Services, Towanda’s Bradford County YMCA and Jones Diner, and Jones’ Store. Warren Center.

“I’m overwhelmed by the flood of support,” Terwilliger said. In addition to bringing in food, there were already some financial and in-kind donations. Matthew and Anchorsen, Sayre’s Wal-Mart, RSH Track, and Willawana United Methodist Church all contributed. Rich Powell Design in Rome is donating a bus banner.

“CHOP has provided the necessary support to Bradford County and so many families throughout the pandemic. They hold pop-up pantry throughout the county and their” backpack program “is weekly. We will provide school students with a bag of food to take home on Friday. Support for this drive shows how much CHOP is valued and how much the still-loved Jaymz Altieri in this community is loved.

“James was a Guthrie volunteer and helped deliver food to those who returned during the pandemic. September is James’ birth month. This food drive is his memory. It’s perfect to stay in. ” Jaymz died suddenly in May.
