YOUNGTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) —Today, the amount of the bond for a woman accused of shooting homicide was set at $1 million. 13 year old daughter of a friend on Friday.
Shyamala Green, 29, of Liberty, was charged with murder and felony assault before Judge Lenny Disalvo in city court. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week.
Ms. Green shook her head as the judge announced her bail on a video link from Mahoning County Jail.
Greene is charged with killing London Jones and injuring the man’s leg in a shooting at Block 400 Carroll Street on the South Side at around 12:30 am.
A group of adults were fighting in the street when Green fired several shots, police said. London was standing on the sidewalk when the shot was fired and was hit.
She was taken to St Elizabeth Health Center where she died.
Green was arrested hours later. Police said she was taken into custody after several rounds of questioning, but declined to comment on exactly how she was taken into custody.
Investigative officials said further charges against others are possible.
Green also has a no contact order against the suspect who injured his leg.
