Davenport, Florida (KDKA)-A board member of the Lebanon Mountain School District in Florida has been arrested for serious child sexual abuse, the Sheriff’s Office in Pork County announced Thursday.
According to investigators, the 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by 34-year-old Andrew Freeman on July 4.
The sheriff’s office said the victim was in the Davenport area for a vacation with family and friends, including Freeman.
Investigators said the victim had accused Freeman of sitting next to the room and sexually assaulting him. According to the sheriff’s office, her family came in and Freeman saw “almost from her nose to nose” in front of her girl.
Freeman initially denied the allegations, but investigators said he had “wrong” and admitted that he had assaulted the victims.
“Andrew Freeman broke the trust of his friends and those who elected him to the school board,” Sheriff Grady Judd said in a news release. “I feel that the people of Lebanon, Pennsylvania no longer want to serve at school, much less want him again near the children. He sexually abused the children. He What were you thinking? ”
According to the sheriff’s office, Freeman was arrested Wednesday and charged with misdemeanor and a second felony for illegal sexual activity.
“The actions described in the release have been criticized and are not exactly in line with the community’s expectations of members of the school board,” the Lebanese school district said in a statement. “We are in contact with the Sheriff’s Office in Pork County and are closely monitoring those procedures,” the district said in a statement.
