AP Editor, Times Columnist, Chairman of the New Pulitzer Prize | National

New York (AP) — New York Times opinion columnist Gail Collins, Associated Press editor Large John Daniszewski, and journalist Katherine Boo have been elected co-chairs of the Pulitzer Prize Committee, the organization announced Thursday. ..

They replace ProPublica Editor-in-Chief Stephen Engelberg and Simon & Schuster Vice President and Executive Editor Mindy Marquez Gonzalez.

The leadership role changes each year to top-level members or 19 board members. Each of the three journalists joined the Pulitzer Prize in 2013.

Boo won Pulitzer Prize for Public Services in 2000 For the Washington Post’s investigation into the illegal death of persons with disabilities hidden from the public. She also writes for the Washington City Papers, Washington Monthly, and New Yorkers. She is the author of “Behind the Beautiful Forevers,” which won the 2012 National Book Award.

Collins became a member of the Times Editorial Board in 1995 and became a member of the Times Editorial Board. First female editorial page editor in a 2001 treatise.. She quit the post, wrote a book, and later returned to the Times as an opinion columnist.

She was previously a columnist for New York Newsday and New York Daily News.

After leading the International News Division for over 10 years, he became Vice President of AP Standards and Editors in July 2016. He previously worked for the Associated Press and the Los Angeles Times for 20 years as a reporter, editor and correspondent.
