Annual Tree of Life Lighting Ceremony – Mainline Media News

On Monday, November 29, 2021, the Women’s Committee of the Rankenau Medical Center will re-open the annual Tree of Life Lighting Ceremony. Since 1983, Lankenau has lit a large evergreen tree in front of a vast campus at the beginning of the holiday season. The Tree of Life is a symbol of Rankenau’s work in the community, bringing life to the world, maintaining good health and serving the sick. When the Tree of Life is illuminated, each light represents a gift or souvenir in honor of a loved one, friend, or opportunity.

An important element of the program is to honor the work done by individuals in Rankenau and the surrounding communities to improve the health and quality of life of others. This year, event chair Pat Nogar and co-chair Jill Acker announced that the winners are: Lawrence L. Livornese, Jr., MD, FACP, FIDSA, Dean of Medicine, Main Line Health, Dorrance H Medicine, Main Line Health; Parish Pastor of the Historic African Episcopal Church in St. Thomas, Philadelphia, Pastor Kanon Matinishaw. Dolores Dan, RN, BS, Clinical and Diabetes Educator (Retired), Lankenau Medical Center.

Like last year, this year’s celebration is “virtual,” highlighting the lighting of the trees and introducing the winners and their achievements. It will be aired via the MLTV Main Line Network on Verizon / Comcast 21 (Radnor). Comcast Channel 99 (Lower Merion); Verizon Channel 34 (Lower Merion, Narberth). Those who are not in these viewing areas will be able to see them at on November 29, 2021 at 6:30 pm. The video will also be broadcast on Lankenau’s surveillance camera system in the main lobby during the holiday season.
