The musical “Annie Live!” Will be rebroadcast on NBC tonight on Monday, December 20th. Viewers can see the familiar face of Lancaster in the cast.
Broadway actor Elysee Roman graduated from McCuskey High School and starred in many local theatrical productions. The popular stage musical, which first aired live on December 2nd, NBC, plays Drake, the butler of Papa Warbucks.
Romance can also be seen as a member of the show’s ensemble in a scene set in the “Hooverville” homeless camp during the Great Depression.
The show will rebroadcast at 8 pm tonight and will continue to be streamed on Peacock.
Roman played Pila Guagai in the original Broadway cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights” and Gloria Estefan’s father in Broadway’s “On Your Feet”. He also participated in Broadway’s “Leap of Faith” ensemble and starred in regional premiere casts of other musicals such as “Zorro” and “Little Miss Sunshine.”
Román has also co-starred with New York-based concert choir Broadway Inspirational Voices, helping many celebrity artists on stage and television performances.
Roman frequently returns home from New York to Lancaster to visit his family.
Earlier this year, he oversaw the production of “On Your Feet!” At the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater, which opened in Lancaster in April, after being staged in February at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Plaza Productions, Florida.
After graduating from McCaski in 1978, Roman worked as a banker in Lancaster, performing musicals at local theaters such as Dutch Apple, Efrata Performing Arts Center, and Fulton Theater.

Premiered on Broadway in 1977, “Annie” is based on the cartoon character “Little Orphan Annie.” At the show, when Annie dreams of finding her parents, she breaks from her “hard knock life” at the orphanage as a holiday guest at the mansion of billionaire Oliver Warbucks.
Broadway musicals have won seven Tony Awards, including the best musicals.

The cast also features actor Franklin D. Roosevelt, an actor who is an activist for the disabled. Like the FDR, toys survive pediatric polio and use wheelchairs before soak vaccines are available. Andrea McArdle, Broadway’s original “Annie,” plays Eleanor Roosevelt.
