Alicia Vikander endured an “extreme” miscarriage.
The 33-year-old Tomb Raider actress said she experienced severe pain after her baby’s death and before she became pregnant with her first child.
She told The Times about her husband Michael Fassbender and her son:
“(Miscarriage) was very extreme and painful. Of course, I remember making the movie (The Light Between Oceans).
“The movie has a different meaning now.”
Alicia and Michael, 45, played a childless couple in a 2016 movie. They adopted a baby girl who had two miscarriages and was lost in the sea.
The actress said in September 2021 that she had a 17-month-old boy with “shame” actor Michael earlier that year.
She is currently appearing on the new Sky Atlantic show “Irma Vep,” which plays a pop star who is forced to return to stage shortly after suffering a miscarriage.
Alicia added that facing the painful problems she faces on the screen helps to deal with the sadness of her private life.
The actress of “Ex Machina” adds:
“But I and my colleagues have experienced something and I don’t understand how they went on the red carpet after that.” How are you?
“Given what they have just experienced? Most people will not be able to leave the house.”
Alicia and Michael got married in October 2017, three years after they started dating, after meeting on the “Given the Light” set.
She avoided publicly discussing her child or revealing her name or gender.
However, Alicia recently told Harper’s Bazaar: “In my little family, I always travel with my husband and children. That’s the rule. We work, so one of us is always with our baby. I can.”
