A woman pulled from under the Septam train at Milborn Station

MILLBOURNE — Upper Darby firefighters safely pulled a woman from under the Septam train on an eastbound El Truck on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:30, just before the start of rush hour, and Septam had to operate a shuttle bus.

I saw a rescue team working in front of the platform of the multi-car train, which already has one car at the station. The trains in both directions stopped because the firefighters were on the tracks.

As the firefighters waited for the power to turn off, two Septam police officers arrived with tools to turn off the third rail.

Keith Yasin, Deputy Chief of the Upper Darby Fire Department, said the women were conscious and alert when the firefighters arrived.

“She was talking to us, she was wary,” Yasin said. “We were waiting to make sure the third rail was closed. After that, it didn’t take long to put her on a stretcher and slide her out from under the train. She. Did not appear to have a serious problem. “

Yashin didn’t know how the woman got to the bottom of the train, but she said she seemed terribly upset.

The woman was taken to an elder hospital by a closer medical worker.
