A large African cat captured after an escape in the suburbs of Detroit | Nationwide

Large cat native to Africa Escaped from a suburban Detroit home According to the Animal Recovery Group, they were captured after spending several hours on lambs.

News of the capture of Caracal came around 11:00 pm on Wednesday when South Lyon Murphy Lost Animal Recovery posted a video of the animals online. Detroit News reported..

“He was in a partially fenced backyard where we were able to drop the trap,” Post said.

The animal’s escape was first reported to police by Royal Oak residents at 6:30 am on Wednesday. She said she discovered that two of the four caracals had passed through an open gate.

One of the caracals was discovered shortly afterwards and was captured and returned to its owner, officials said.

Caracal falls into the category of animals that are not regulated by the state. They prey on rodents, other small mammals and birds. They are also native to the Middle East, Central Asia, and India.
