A 15-year-old boy has a jaw injury in eastern Burks

An urgent report said a 15-year-old boy was shot in the face early Saturday in eastern Berks County.

The crew was reportedly dispatched to 400 blocks of Landis Store Road in Pike Township shortly after midnight for a young man with a gunshot jaw injury.

Fires and medics staged near the scene waiting for state police to arrive, but residents reportedly left the house with the youth and approached the crew.

The young man was conscious and alert, and an ambulance crew took him to Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown. The crew learned that the wound was due to a .22 caliber weapon.

State police did not have the information late Saturday morning.

No further details were available.
