Penn State Earns QB Commitment For 2024 Hiring Class – The Morning Call

Penn State has a quarterback in its 2024 recruiting class.

Three-star prospect Ethan Granmeyer from Olentangy, Ohio made verbal commitments Saturday to a move to the Nittany Lions. He announced his decision through social media.

Granmeyer, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 190 pounds on the cycle, received an offer from Penn State University late last month. He committed the crime while visiting campus on Saturday.

Granmeyer is the 14th member of Pennsylvania State’s 2024 class and is ranked sixth nationally according to both 247 Sports and Rivals. Not only is he the starting quarterback, he’s also the first prospect to come out of Ohio.

Penn State is no stranger to hiring quarterbacks from Ohio. Most recently, five-star Drew Allah from Medina signed for the freshman class of 2022. In fact, Granmeyer and Allah share the same trainer, QB Excellate Brad Mendler.

Groenekameyer was a junior with Olentangy, completing 64.2 percent for 2,649 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also added four rushing touchdowns.

Grünckemeyer had 23 scholarship offers to choose from. Michigan, Minnesota, Virginia and Cincinnati all had him visit earlier this year. But Pennsylvania State University has hosted Granmeyer on numerous occasions. He camped at Pennsylvania State in July 2021, visited twice in 2022, visited last weekend and again this weekend.
